Yacht Selection

What Kind of Yacht Is Right for Your Group?

The wrong yacht type is the single most common source of charter disappointment. Get this decision right before anything else.

Luxury & Service

What kind of experience are you looking for?

Motor Yacht

Motor Yacht — Speed, Comfort, and Maximum Range

Motor yachts offer the widest range of amenities — large sundecks, stabilizers, multiple cabins with en-suite bathrooms, and the ability to cover longer distances quickly. They are the best choice for groups that want comfort and flexibility over sailing experience. The trade-off: higher fuel consumption and costs. Best for: luxury charters, large groups, families, corporate events.

Sailing Yacht

Sailing Yacht — Authenticity, Economy, Adventure

A traditional sailing yacht is quieter, more economical to run (when the wind cooperates), and offers a genuinely nautical experience. Cabins are compact but efficient. The rhythm is slower — more about the journey than the destination. Best for: adventurers, sailors, couples, anyone who wants an authentic sea experience without a large budget.

Catamaran

Catamaran — Stability, Space, Social Sailing

Catamarans are the social charter vessel. Two hulls mean a wide, stable platform, a huge cockpit for group dining, and individual cabins in each hull for privacy. Motion sickness is minimal. They are ideal for families with children, first-time charterers, and groups who want outdoor living space over speed. Trade-off: marinas charge more for the extra beam; some anchorages are inaccessible.

Size Guide

How Big a Yacht Do You Actually Need?

Yacht size is measured in meters (LOA — length overall). As a rule: 10–14m handles 2–4 people comfortably; 14–20m suits 4–8; 20–30m is the luxury family range for 6–10; 30m+ is superyacht territory. Do not over-size — a 30m yacht requires a full crew and APA that escalates quickly. Equally, do not undersize for comfort — a 12m boat with six adults becomes very small by day four.

Pro tip

The common mistake: choosing a yacht based on the number of berths rather than the number of usable cabins. Check the cabin layout, not just the headline capacity.
